What to Do this Weekend: 4/4-4/6 Edition

Is it just us, or did you just step into a Delorean and gun it to 88 miles per hour, because it looks like someones gone…back in time!

We bring you an entire weekend, starting tonight, of the best nostalgic parties and events happening around Los Angeles.  From the glitz and glamour of the 1920’s all the way to the smoke and gin-drenched 1940’s, here are our picks for a weekend of unique Los Angeles events!

Friday 4/4

Watched the Great Gatsby and fancied yourself a flapper? Head to the coolest “speakeasy” in Los Angeles, The Edison, for an incredible night of drinks and dancing in what is probably the coolest period-themed bar in the state! Get there between 7 and 9 for entry without a wait and catch the super cool Arielist that will be performing shortly thereafter. There’s also a DJ, but the space itself will impress you so much that you may not even notice!

Saturday 4/5

Film Noir fan? The American Cinematheque is throwing a dark and mysterious party in conjunction with others at the famed  in Hollywood! This unique evening begins with a 7:00pm screening of the 1945 classic film, Detour, followed by dinner, an open bar and live entertainment including gambling, a burlesque show and a period-appropriate live band! Dressing the part is heavily encouraged. Get your tickets HERE!

Sunday 4/6

Not a Game of Thrones fan? How about swing music? Is that your bag? Head over to Cicada, an authentic Art Deco restaurant located in downtown Los Angeles, for a night out that will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a time warp!

A few times per month, this huge, 2-level restaurant transforms into a 20’s, 30’s or 40’s themed nightclub complete with band and guests in costume! It’s one of the most unique experiences in Los Angeles for sure, with guests of all age ranges from 21 up.

Go for dinner or just for drinks, but whatever you do be sure to get your tickets in advance as these events tend to sell out quickly!
