What to Do This Weekend: 11/8-11/10 Edition


The American Film Institute kicks off its annual, star studded film fest, complete with red carpet galas, special screenings, conversations and tributes. AFI FEST is Los Angeles’ longest running international film festival and has been bringing the best in world cinema to the film capital of the world since its launch as FILMEX in 1971. Even better? Thirsty? How about some wine? Join the Wine Riot Event and sample wines from all over the world. There’s 250 available!  Sip your way through interactive booths and crash courses loaded with tips and tricks for conquering the wine world (and impressing your friends). A DJ and photo booth will be on hand to bring the fun level up a notch!   Sessions are from 1-5pm or 7-11pm.  Tickets available on their website above.


Love Japanese food? Get your fill at the 14th Annual Japanese Food Festival! This years fest will take place at the Hilton by Universal Studios.  It’s all you can eat for $60 and dishes include sushi, ramen noodle, soba noodle, beef bowl, sake, beer, shochu and more!
