The Summer to Fall Fashion Transition
Sure, we get unexpected heat waves right smack in the middle of October, but the autumn temperatures will soon be dropping. That will be when many Los Angeleans find themselves shivering and shaking in their open toed shoes and board shorts!
So how do you transition from summer wear into autumn apparel? Effortless and easily if you follow our 3 classic and easy autumn fashion tips below!
Add a Jacket
Up your comfort level by simply adding a neutral toned jacket or blazer to your wardrobe. It’s amazing how big of a difference such a small item can make, but a jacket or blazer will not only decrease your chances of catching a cold, but will also pull your outfit together.
Once worn only with skirts or trousers, jackets and blazers are now also being worn to dress up a pair of jeans and a t-shirt!
Throw on a Scarf
You don’t have to be bundled up in a huge coat to swaddle your neck with a scarf! Casual, or dressy, scarfs are a very inexpensive way to add color and warmth to any outfit!
While some prefer to go casual by draping a scarf around their neck, others prefer more sophisticated methods, like the ones below.
Give Your Feet The Boot
Yes, it is a sad day when you must retire the sandals and other open-toed shoes, but it’s also an occasion to celebrate! This fall season is all about two very different extremes of boots. The first is the short boot, or bootie, worn casually or with stockings and a skirt or dress. The second is the over-the-knee boot. Not just for go-go dancers anymore, the over-the-knee boot can polish off an outfit when worn in a dark neutral such as black, gray or brown. More ways to wear just about any kind of boots can be found HERE!
And remember this, Los Angeleans: It is very rare that we ever must completely retire our summer clothing for longer than a few weeks, so don’t box up those board shorts and open toed shoes just yet! Happy autumn!
