The Hardest VIP Club to Get Into in SoCal

When you think of clubs and VIP sections, you may think of long lines, irrelevant “lists”, velvet ropes and glitterati.  Still, while Los Angeles and Hollywood are jam packed with exclusive clubs, there still remains just one that may be the ultimate exclusivity and it doesn’t care who you think you are, what you look like or how much you’re willing to shell out in order to get in.

This very existence of this club has been both denied and confirmed for decades.

There are no lines to get in due to the fact that there is a very well hidden “secret” entrance.

This is a private club and admission requires a referral from a current member, a $27,000-$40,000 initiation fee (the higher rate for corporations and the lower rate for individuals), an additional $12,000 annual membership fee and a set price of $100 for every dinner or lunch.  It has been rumored that as of 2011, there was a 14-year waiting list for new memberships as only 500 memberships are allowed per year.

So where is this exclusive VIP club located at? Believe it or not, it’s located within the confines of Disneyland!

Club 33: the only area of Disneyland serving fine dining and a full bar, has been open since May 1967.  Located in the heart of the New Orleans Square section, it was created by Mr. Walt Disney himself as a secret venue for entertaining important celebrities, politicians and investors.

Besides the fully stocked bar, the menu has delectable selections of delicacies such as Duck Consommé, Lobster Rockefeller, Creole Mustard Crusted Rack of Lamb and various cuts of steaks.  There is also a “can’t miss” complimentary dessert bar with mouthwatering sweets.

While the club was remodeled only a few years back, it still retains its original charm and ornate woodwork, not to mention several of the antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces of art drawn or painted by either Mr. Walt Disney himself or members of his original art team.

While dining and being entertained at Club 33 is a privilege in itself, members also receive up to 6 Fastpasses to both Disney parks with early admission, complimentary valet parking and access to the presidential car on the Walt Disney Railroad.  In addition, members have access to the newly opened sister club, 1901, located on the bottom level of the Carthay Circle Theater near the entrance of California Adventure.
