Santa Monica Gears Up for National Night Out

Residents of Santa Monica including NMS tenants, of course are getting exciting for this year’s National Night Out, at which members of the community will commingle with Santa Monica Police Department official. The 29th edition of the anticrime event will take place August 7 at the Santa Monica Civic Center.

More than 15,000 cities and towns in all 50 states are expected to participate in this year’s National Night Out. The annual event is intended to deepen and bring awareness to the relationship between police officers and the communities they serve.

Santa Monica’s celebration of National Night Out will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Civic Center. Police will be on hand to introduce themselves and their equipment, and there will also be local bicycle retailers, driving demonstrations, carnival games, food trucks, and other amusements intended for children.
