Opportunities to Volunteer in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving

thanksgiving dinner

Thanksgiving conjures images of turkey, football, and pumpkin pie. The holiday is also a time to be grateful for what you already have. Consider creating a new tradition with your family this year by giving back to those in need. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite volunteer opportunities in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving holiday below.

Westside Thanksgiving

This celebration served more than 2,500 meals, distributed clothing and blankets, and provided hundreds of children’s immunizations and haircuts in 2011. You may sign up for a range of volunteer roles for pre-event planning or on Thanksgiving Day.

Dinner in the Park

Union Station Homeless Services provides Thanksgiving meals to the homeless in Pasadena’s Central Park every year. Sign up to volunteer on November 23, 24, or 25, 2012 for this community event.

Banquet in the Streets

Fred Jordan Mission feeds Thanksgiving dinner to thousands of homeless and hungry people right outside its location in Skid Row. Fill out an application and register to feed those in need.

One Incredible Family

This 18th annual event serves Thanksgiving dinners at homeless shelters. They have a variety of volunteer roles available including providing food donations and serving dinner.
