New Folk-Music Concert Series Coming to Santa Monica

In what will be music to the ears of Santa Monica residents who love folk music, the nonprofit organization FolkWorks is warming up a brand-new concert series to debut this fall.

The FolkWorks Concerts will kick off October 6 at the Santa Monica History Museum. The museum is located at 1350 Seventh St., just a short walk away from the Santa Monica apartments at [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]. It is also close to NMS’s affordable apartments to lease in Santa Monica, such as Olympic Studios.

Performing at the October 6 concert will be Nevenka, a Los Angeles women’s chorus that sings material originating from Russia, Bulgaria, Ireland and other countries. Nevenka sing mostly a cappella, although guitar, percussion and other instruments sometimes flesh out their songs.

The fee for admission to the concert is $15. The show starts at 8 p.m., with doors opening 45 minutes beforehand.

The next FolkWorks concert is on tap for December 15 and will also take place at the Santa Monica History Museum.
