The Los Angeles Marathon Returns on March 19th

The 31st annual Los Angeles Marathon will be taking place in just a few short weeks! On Sunday, March 19th, over 25,000 people will gather at the Dodger Stadium start point and make the 26 mile trek from downtown Los Angeles to the finish line in downtown Santa Monica.
Participants will make their way through the neighborhoods to Echo Park, Silverlake, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood and Brentwood.

They will have approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes from the time that the last runner crosses the start line to complete the race.  Participants must be at least 16 years old and must register for the race no later than March 15th.

Unlike other marathons that raise awareness or funds for charity, the Los Angeles Marathon allows runners to choose to raise awareness and/or funds upon registration.  They may choose from over 90 nonprofits which include the ALS, American Jewish World Service, Animal Wellness Foundation, Autism Speaks, Concern Foundation, Special Olympics Southern California, Lukemia and Lymphoma Societ (LLS), Kitten Rescue and more.
