Jazz on the Lawn Warms Up 2012 Schedule

In what will be music to the ears of Santa Monica residents, the city’s Jazz on the Lawn concert series sponsored in part by NMS Properties, Inc. begins anew this month. Four shows, all of them free, will be held at Stewart Park each Sunday in August, and they will last from 5 to 7 p.m.

On August 5, Venice-based roots and jazz ensemble Dustbowl Revival will kick off this year’s Jazz on the Lawn series. That group will be followed by Zane Musa Quartet, who will play the next Sunday.

The third concert will be led by the Ronnie Gutierrez Band featuring Leslie Paula, and the last show will showcase a set by Caribbbean-music guitarist Rogelio Mitchell.

To complement the music, frozen treats will be available courtesy of Beachy Cream and Frozen Crush. Alternately, attendees are welcome to bring their own food, in addition to beach blankets and beach chairs.

Residents of NMS-owned Santa Monica apartments in particular Olympic Studios and Olympic Studio Lofts will have no trouble getting to the park, especially via bicycle (a free bike valet will be on site). Free parking will be available at the Olympic Shuttle Lot at 1831 Stewart St.
