Haunted Mazes to Slay Santa Monica’s Chopping, Shopping Mall
Beware, all ye dwellers of the Santa Monica apartments for rent at [email protected], [email protected], 1522 on 6th and other NMS-owned properties near Santa Monica Place: Your neighborhood is about to get seriously haunted.
On September 28, the mall will scare up its first large-scale Halloween-season spectacle (in recent memory, at least). Paranoia Haunted Attraction, which runs through Halloween night, will feature three “deathly terrifying” mazes that are being billed as “Santa Monica’s ultimate seasonal attraction haunted destination.” The mazes are colorfully named “The Infirmary,” “Insomniac Clown Playhouse” and “Granny’s Manor of Mayhem.”
Earlier this week, a new promotional video for Paranoia Haunted Attraction hit crept up on YouTube. Between flashing images of Michael Myers, Abe Lincoln the Vampire Hunter and creepy people with stitches on their face is the following message:
“Nothing can help you … no one will survive … three terrifying mazes … when night falls on Santa Monica Place … its spirits will shock your soul … enter if you dare.”
Paranoia Haunted Attraction will be open from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Tickets are currently available online, and they won’t cost you a (severed) arm or leg: The price is $24 for general admission and $39 for VIP privileges. At the door, they will run $30 and $45, respectively.
Paranoia Haunted Attraction’s not-so-spooky strategic partners include the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, 97.1 Amp Radio, KROQ, WSS and the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
