Apple Pan Named Best Burger in the U.S. by National Geographic

Attention, NMS residents living at West Los Angeles apartments: If you haven’t been to The Apple Pan yet, there’s a fresh reason to: The restaurant has the best burger in the United States, according to National Geographic. The West L.A.-based, classic-style restaurant topped the list in the magazine’s brand-new “10 Best of Everything” issue.

The cash-only, family-friendly establishment has a limited but hugely popular menu that includes a handful of offerings that the Apple Pan has served since 1945: the Hickory Burger (with mayonnaise, special sauce and condiments); Southern Baked Ham (with Swiss cheese, mayo and lettuce); and the more traditional tuna salad, egg salad and Swiss cheese sandwiches. Going even further back is the Steak Burger, which the restaurant has served since 1927.

The Apple Pan is located at 10801 Pico Blvd., which is close to NMS residential communities including the West Los Angeles luxury apartments at LuXe@1759 and the Westwood apartments at the Wilshire Margot. Those properties are also nearby the Westwood-area In-N-Out Burger (922 Gayley Ave.)  which came in second on the National Geographic list.
