3 Super Easy Thanksgiving Appetizers

Most of us don’t have a whole lot of time but also don’t want to be the person who shows up to Thanksgiving dinner either empty handed or with something that was obviously store bought. That, or if you are the host or hostess, you may be so busy preparing the other dishes that you need to spend less time on the appetizers but don’t want to just put out a bag of chips.

For those folks, here are 3 extremely easy appetizers that are sure to impress even the most picky host or hostess!

Baked Brie

You need:
1 round 8 oz wheel of brie cheese (rind on)
1 sheet of puff pastry
brown sugar
raspberry, strawberry or apricot jam

Preheat your over to 350 degrees.  Lay the puff pastry sheet down and place the brie on top in the center.  Spread jam thickly over the brie.
Fold the remaining pastry dough over the top of the brie and then sprinkle brown sugar on top.  Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.  Serve hot with sliced french bread and/or plain crackers. Delicious!

Tip: If you are traveling for dinner, prepare the baked brie but contact the host or hostess in advance about cooking it once you arrive.  The baked brie is amazing hot or warm but not cool or cold.


Bacon Wrapped Dates

You need:
12 slices of cooked bacon (not crispy)
24 pitted dates

Cut each slice of bacon in half lengthwise.   Simply wrap each piece around a date and secure with a toothpick. Done!
Just be sure to warm these babies up in the microwave for 2 minutes before serving.


4 Minute Crab Dip

You need:
6 oz of imitation or canned crab meat
8 oz cream cheese (left out until soft)
12 oz cocktail sauce
1 tbs Worcester sauce
1 tsp hot sauce
1 small onion finely chopped

Mix it all together then cover and chill until ready to serve with crackers. Voila!
