3 Places That Every Book Lover Must Visit in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a sprawling mecca of secret and not-so-secret places to visit and explore both indoors and outside.  If you’re someone who loves a great literary adventure then check out our picks for the top 3 places that every book lover must visit in the Los Angeles area below.  Enjoy!

1.  The Last Book Store

While not technically the last bookstore in Los Angeles, it truly may be the last large bookstore of its kind not just in Los Angeles, but in all of Southern California.  Housed in a gigantic, multi-level historic building, this bookstore may look fairly nondescript on the outside, but step inside and find a wonderland of not only new and used books but also phenomenally designed art displays and oddities.

2.  Central Library

Constructed in 1926 and now considered a historical landmark, Central Library is not only a public library but is also considered to be one of the most beautiful libraries in the United States.  With ancient Egyptian and Mediterranean Revival architectural influences, it’s hard not to gawk at the soaring mosaic ceilings and murals that swill surround you.

3.  Book Soup

Since 1975 this independent bookstore has been thrilling literary fans by not only selling books, but by offering the general public chances to meet up-and-coming and well known authors.  Check out the list of which authors will be visiting and hosting readings and signings of their books HERE.
