2016 Twilight Concert Series on the Santa Monica Pier

Everyone’s favorite outdoor concert series in Santa Monica returns tomorrow, July 7th! Here’s what to expect for the 2016 season.

When: Every Thursday!
Well, every Thursday from July 7th until September 8th with performances starting around 7:00 pm and ending close to 10:00 pm.

Where: The Santa Monica Pier.
While the performers and dancing are located on the actual pier, there are large speakers and screens set up facing the main seating area on the beach to the South of the pier.

Who:  This years line up includes

7/7 Mayer Hawthorne
7/14 BØRNS
7/21 The Psychedelic Furs
7/28 Protoje & The Indiggnation
8/4 Natalia Lafourcade
8/18 Mavis Staples
8/25 Save Ferris
9/1  Unknown Mortal Orchestra
9/8 Ohio Players

Cost:  $0
Each concert is free and open to all ages, making it one of the biggest annual events in Los Angeles County.

Seating:  Sandy.
Attendees begin to save patches of sand pretty early in the day due to some popular shows, so be sure to arrive as early as possible to get your spot.

Food and Beverage Options:  Several.
Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are fine to picnic with, but alcohol is not allowed and all trash should be cleaned up.  For those of age who would like to responsibly consume alcohol, many restaurants and cafes located on the Pier are open during the concerts, some even offering specials or “happy hours”.

Parking:  Going Green Encouraged.
Parking-wise, resources are fairly limited compared to the number of attendees that turn out, so while there are parking options that can be found HERE, utilizing the new EXPO line, biking, Big Blue Bus and drop off services such as Uber and Lyft are highly recommended.  If you bike or skateboard over, there is free bike and board valet offered next to the beach bike path that is just south of the Pier.

Bathrooms:  Yes.
There are “porta-potties”.

Good to Know: Sunblock and a sweatshirt!
Trust us! You will be so glad that you brought sunblock to protect your skin while waiting for the sun to go down and something to keep you warm for after.
